brief
In 2006, the Canada Post Post Corporation commissioned HM&E Design Communications to create a series of five se-tenant 51¢ commemorative stamps honoring notable Canadian opera singers. I was tasked with designing this prestigious stamp series, which celebrated the remarkable contributions of Maureen Forrester, Raoul Jobin, Jon Vickers, Edward Johnson, Léopold Simoneau and Pierrette Alarie.
approach and solution
Through meticulous research, creative design, and collaborative effort, the project successfully honored these Canadian opera legends and promoted cultural recognition. The stamp series and first-day cover received widespread acclaim for their romantic, multi-coloured designs and high-contrast photographic portraits, serving as a fitting tribute to the magnificent art form of opera in Canada.
